![]() ![]() The Ballet Foundation, established in late 1939, was formed to stimulate interest and support for ballet in the United States. Those scores for which there are only one or two parts are also arranged alphabetically by ballet title and are collected in two boxes marked “Miscellaneous Ballet Scores.” Various instrumental and vocal scores which do not relate to specific ballets are arranged alphabetically by composer's name and are located in three boxes marked “Miscellaneous Scores.” ![]() Within each ballet, the part scores are organized by instrument. The scores are boxed and grouped alphabetically by ballet title. The Ballet Foundation gift, donated to the Dance Collection after the Foundation closed in 1984, contains orchestral and part scores for 82 ballets, as well as miscellaneous instrumental and vocal scores.
